Concept development + Interface design + Exhibit design

The Fires Next Time

Creative Direction, Design | Kelly Skye & Andres Pacheco

Fires Next Time (formally Saving the West) is an interface concept that uses AI & GIS technology to visualize fire prevention treatments for the forests of California. With a small team, I designed an interface and a multi-part exhibit to immerse audiences in different possible futures for our western forests as the climate changes.

New ways to understand complex systems

Seeing into the future of our forests

We designed an installation to broaden the public understanding of what a healthy western forest looks like and what practices have to change to get us there.

Designed for clarity

An image is worth 1000 words - I love finding ways to visualize complex problems in ways diverse audiences can understand them, and quickly.
